On the one hand, tartar should be removed and on the other, it is encouraged by inappropriate food and a lack of teeth cleaning. WHITE dental plus is extremely well tolerated as it is 100% natural and vegan. It contains no genetic engineering, gluten, fructose, lactose, yeast, soy or artificial additives and promotes digestion, feed conversion and metabolism.

We recommend a combination of FRESH and WHITE dental plus if gingivitis, bad breath or tartar occur together. WHITE dental plus is effective against tartar and plaque, while FRESH soothes the gums and relieves gingivitis. FRESH also has an antibacterial effect and combats bad breath, which can be caused mainly by bacteria. Although both products have different purposes, their synergistic effect means that they can and should be combined if necessary.

It is perfectly normal for your dog to gorge, because dogs are scavengers. In the wild, they have to eat their food quickly to protect it from other animals and to ensure that they get enough to eat. Chewing items such as cowhide, bullwhips or cattle ears are suitable for this. These support the natural abrasion of the tartar and stimulate the chewing muscles. We would like to emphasise how important it is to pay attention to your dog's diet and offer him a species-appropriate diet. Many industrially produced dry and wet foods contain ingredients that are not suitable for the dog's body and can lead to problems such as tartar, intolerances, autoimmune diseases, thyroid, heart, liver and kidney problems.

The proportions of the analytical components are not constant, as WHITE dental plus is a natural product and the proportion depends on exposure to light, growth time, season and drying.

WHITE dental plus is sufficient for dogs weighing 2 to 10 kg for 2 months and correspondingly shorter for dogs over 10 kg. For very small dogs weighing around 2 kg, which only receive a measuring spoon every two days, one can even last up to 4 months (see application in the store). For large dogs, we offer special packages (2 and 4 tins) as well as a 5 + 1 offer.

A chewing stick from the coffee tree and species-appropriate chewing material can help to remove the tartar softened by WHITE dental plus. The wood of the coffee tree has special properties: it does not splinter, is very durable and has a fibrous consistency that allows the dog's teeth to sink deep into the wood. The wood fibres contribute to abrasion and thus perform a similar function to the fur that wolves eat from their torn animals to remove plaque from their teeth. It is important to make sure that the food you give your dog is species-appropriate and balanced. Dry food can lead to serious health problems. High-quality wet food and raw meat bones can be a good alternative. Natural chews such as rabbit ears with fur and 100% air-dried meat strips should also be considered. Brushing your teeth does not help with tartar. The plaque is too hard to remove with a toothbrush. We also believe that brushing dogs' teeth is not species-appropriate.

It tastes slightly salty from the sea. Imagine you're on the beach, that's what it smells like. Because it is dried and gently processed into granules, it is highly acceptable to dogs.

Our products comply with Feed Quality, which, like all high-quality dog food, has been extensively tested and certified. Overdosing is not known, but we recommend sticking to the feeding recommendation given, as a higher dosage does not necessarily lead to a better effect.

There is a lot of ignorance about thyroid problems in dogs or about iodine, most of which is collected on the web. To explain: the most common malfunction is hypothyroidism.

Forms of hypothyroidism:

• Primary hypothyroidism: destruction or atrophy of thyroid tissue
• Secondary hypothyroidism: destruction, malformation or suppression of the pituitary gland
• tertiary hypothyroidism: malformation or acquired damage to the hypothalamus
• Congenital hypothyroidism: congenital defect associated, for example, with a disorder of iodine uptake or iodine utilisation

An oversupply or undersupply of iodine can only affect the thyroid gland with long-term and excessive intake. The main cause of an iodine oversupply is often the long-term feeding of industrially produced dry or wet food. Unfortunately, over 90% of all dog foods contain artificial vitamins and minerals in often far too high quantities, which can be found as additives or under the label "nutritional additives", including iodine. These are often used to compensate for the poor nutritional quality of the food in order to make the product saleable. In addition, many ready-to-eat foods contain preservatives, attractants and other additives, not all of which need to be declared. This applies to 98% of all dry food, which is generally not suitable for dogs. Dry food was invented by the animal feed industry in the post-war period and is still advertised today as "healthy" at great expense.

Many people like convenience and simplicity, which is why dry food has persisted to this day. Unfortunately, ignorance on the part of dog owners, false promises from manufacturers, advertising and little regulation support this trend. If you inform yourself, you will learn that dry food, but also many wet foods, are unhealthy for your dog. For example, a high-quality food does not need any additives, a little vitamin D is fine, but that's it.

You can use WHITE dental plus without hesitation as it has a low iodine content of 120mg/kg. One scoop contains only 0.75 grams and you should feed one scoop per 10 kg of dog weight every day. For very small dogs weighing around 2kg, it is sufficient to mix one scoop into their food every other day. If your dog already suffers from thyroid dysfunction, this does not automatically mean that he has to go without iodine. However, the amount is crucial. Information for WHITE dental plus and FRESH customers

DOG FIT by PreThis® WHITE dental plus plus can be mixed with food or fed in a treat such as cottage cheese or liver sausage. One scoop per day is recommended per 10 kg of dog weight (the scoop is included in the packaging). Small dogs weighing 1 to 2 kg should be given one scoop every other day.

The active ingredients in DOG FIT by PreThis® WHITE dental plus are absorbed into the saliva via the digestive system and thus reach the teeth. The natural active ingredients dissolve the tartar so that it can be removed. As a natural product, it needs time to develop its effect, which should be taken into account. The duration of administration of DOG FIT by PreThis® WHITE dental plus cannot be generalized. At least 6 to 8 weeks are required to achieve initial success. Depending on the age, position and strength of the tartar, the position of the teeth (especially small breeds with teeth that are too close together due to breeding) and the quality of the food, it can also take 12 weeks or longer.

Patience is very important here. Please persevere and don't give up after just 6 weeks. However, there are also limits to natural cleaning. If the tartar is already very thick, mineralized, lumpy, all over and spread over many teeth, unfortunately you have waited too long and possibly made mistakes with regard to diet and chewing material. Tartar always has a cause and has nothing to do with the age or breed of the dog! By the way: brushing teeth is something for humans and not for dogs. Brushing your dog's teeth does not remove tartar.

If you want to feed your dog FRESH herbal mix in addition to bad breath and/or gingivitis, you should do this together with WHITE dental plus. FRESH combats bacteria that live in tartar and can cause both bad breath and inflammation in the mouth. Please add FRESH to the food once a day or feed it as a treat. The effect of FRESH on bad breath and/or gingivitis may become visible a little faster within 2 to 4 weeks. You should feed FRESH for the same length of time as WHITE dental plus, as the bacteria can grow in the dog's organism and have a long-term effect on heart, liver and kidney problems.

Recognize tartar triggers

Particularly with small breeds, which tend to have narrow teeth due to breeding specifications, you have to pay very close attention to the ingredients in their food. Of course, large breeds also need the right food. However, many dog owners do not realise that they are feeding an industrial food, although 90% of all foods are just that.

But I do feed a good food! Really?

The pet food industry is very skilful at not declaring tartar-causing and, above all, harmful ingredients as such. Successful tartar removal and prophylaxis depend to a large extent on food and chewing materials, and dry food is the unhealthy ready-made pizza for dogs. It does not belong in any bowl!

If a food is fed with tartar-promoting ingredients, even the best product may not be effective, or it may take a very long time and not be sustainable. But the promotion of tartar is only the lesser evil with many foods. Dry food in particular is partly responsible for many other diseases (renal insufficiency, thyroid, heart and liver disease, leaky gut and other intestinal problems, etc.). If your dog already has a thyroid dysfunction, this does not necessarily mean that he has to go without iodine. It always depends on the individual case. However, as we do not know your dog personally, we generally advise against feeding WHITE dental plus to dogs with thyroid disorders. Please consult your vet, who ideally has additional training as a nutritionist. If he is not qualified, please consult another vet or veterinary practitioner.

The onset of effect depends on the type and severity of the underlying disease. It usually takes at least 6 weeks before the first positive effects can be noticed, possibly a little longer. Please be patient, as natural products need time to take effect.

Preferably, you should add the capsule closed to the food. Only open the capsule if your dog does not want to swallow it and sprinkle the contents into the food. This has no influence on the effectiveness.

We generally recommend the long-term use of our supplements, as supplements usually take a few weeks to develop their full effect. Continuous use is particularly important for problems with joints, the spine or intervertebral discs in order to achieve long-term results.

However, there are exceptions. For VITAL gastro, when used specifically to treat diarrhoea or soft stools, the recommended duration of use is usually around 5 days. This shorter duration refers exclusively to the underlying symptom. You can find more information on this in the "Use" section for the preparation VITAL gastro. For all other types of digestive and stomach problems or after worm or parasite infestation, VITAL gastro can be fed over a longer period of time without hesitation.

Preparations such as VITAL immune or VITAMIN B can also be fed only at times of high stress or prophylactically 2 to 3 times a year. Ultimately, however, the decision depends on your dog's individual needs and we are happy to help with this decision.
