Medicinal mushrooms from TCM » For balanced accompaniment
The medicinal mushroom extracts of Reishi, Shiitake, Cordyceps, and Polyporus contained in VITAL health have been an integral part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for centuries. In veterinary medicine, they are valued for their high content of polysaccharides, especially beta-glucans, as well as their versatility for special nutritional requirements.
- Reishi is considered the "mushroom of long life" in Asia. It provides bioactive substances and is used to support normal heart function and a balanced metabolism.
- Shiitake is rich in fiber and natural micronutrients. In naturopathic practice, it is supplemented for challenges in the areas of intestinal flora, liver, and circulation, among others.
- Cordyceps is traditionally valued for dogs under increased stress and for older dogs. In TCM, it is used as an adjunct to support energy balance, kidney function, and hormonal balance.
- Polyporus contains natural constituents that can contribute to supporting water balance and providing nutritional support for the urinary tract. In veterinary practice, it is often used as a supplement for dogs with special kidney and bladder needs.
The combination of these four mushroom extracts forms a balanced recipe base with valuable natural ingredients – Gently supports the feeding of dogs with an increased need for vital nutrients.
Medicinal mushrooms such as shiitake are valued in veterinary medicine and have been used in Asian natural medicine for centuries. Their natural ingredients are used as a supplement to food – especially for challenges related to normal cell function, the immune system, or natural resistance. Targeted supplementation can also be useful for older or heavily stressed dogs.
Hemp Powder » For cell health, nervous balance, and skin function
Hemp powder is a natural source of polyunsaturated fatty acids, especially omega-3 and omega-6. These essential fatty acids contribute to normal skin function and can help support tissue balance - especially in cases of sensitive skin or increased skin needs.
Furthermore, hemp powder is valued in veterinary medicine for providing a balanced supply of nutrients for the nervous system. Its accompanying properties can contribute to inner peace and balance - especially in challenging situations such as travel, thunderstorms, or New Year's Eve.
Through the combination of high-quality plant protein, fatty acids, and bioactive plant substances, hemp powder supplements daily feeding in a meaningful way – for vitality, skin balance, and a stable nervous system. In combination with our VITAMIN B complex for dogs, it also offers ideal support for the normal functioning of the nervous system.
Flaxseed powder » For skin, digestion, and cell balance
Flaxseed powder is rich in natural omega-3 fatty acids, plant fiber, and valuable secondary plant substances. The nutrients it contains can contribute to normal skin and coat function and supplement daily nutrition, especially for dogs with sensitive skin or an increased need for unsaturated fatty acids.
The soluble and insoluble fiber in flaxseed powder supports harmonious digestion and can help maintain regular bowel movements. At the same time, they serve as a natural food source for beneficial intestinal bacteria – for a balanced intestinal flora.
As a multi-talented plant product, flaxseed powder is particularly valued in animal nutrition for its nutritional properties – for supporting metabolism and natural vitality from within.
Magnesium and Calcium » For Muscles, Nerves & Bones
Magnesium and calcium are among the essential minerals that play a significant role in the interaction of muscles, nerves, and the skeletal system in dogs. A balanced intake through daily feeding can help support these physiological functions as needed.
Calcium contributes to the normal structure of bones and teeth. It is also involved in the transmission of impulses in muscle and nerve cells – a stable calcium balance therefore supports not only the strength of the musculoskeletal system but also normal neuromuscular function.
Magnesium is crucial for muscle relaxation and energy metabolism. It ideally supplements calcium, as both minerals are closely linked – for example, in movement coordination, stimulus transmission, and muscle work.
The combination of these two minerals is particularly useful for active, older, or nutritionally sensitive dogs, whose needs may be increased due to growth phases, stress, or feeding habits.
Blueberry extract » Supports vascular and cognitive functions
The blueberry extract contained in VITAL health supplements the daily diet with bioactive micronutrients to support normal physiological functions – particularly in the areas of cell protection, the vascular system, and brain activity.
Blueberries are rich in natural anthocyanins, a group of plant polyphenols known for their antioxidant properties. These secondary plant substances contribute to the neutralization of free radicals and can thus help protect cells from oxidative stress – an important factor in maintaining cell structure in dogs.
In addition, blueberry extract is valued in animal nutrition for its role in supporting normal vascular function and blood circulation – especially in older dogs. The berry is also traditionally used as a valuable food supplement with regard to cognitive abilities and general mental well-being in old age.
The nutrients it contains naturally supplement your dog's needs – especially during periods of increased demand for concentration, cell protection, and vitality.
Turmeric and Ginger Extract » For well-being and balance in the organism
VITAL health contains a finely balanced combination of turmeric and ginger extract, which is valued in animal nutrition to support physiological processes – especially in older dogs.or sensitive dogs.
Turmeric contains the natural polyphenol curcumin, which is known as a secondary plant compound and contributes to supporting normal cell function. In veterinary medicine, turmeric is traditionally recommended as a supplement when the organism faces particular challenges – e.g., when mobility decreases or during periods of increased stress.
Ginger is also known for its functional role in supplementation – particularly in supporting normal digestive function. Its essential oils and pungent substances can help support general well-being – for example, for sensitive stomachs or older dogs with declining vitality.
Together, this duo supplements your dog's daily diet with natural plant substances that can contribute to physiological balance and vitality – especially in cases of age or stress-related challenges.
Ginseng Extract » For more energy and vitality
VITAL health supplemented with high-quality ginseng extract – a traditional plant substance that has been valued in Asian natural history for centuries. In animal nutrition, ginseng is used particularly in older dogs or during periods of increased stress to support normal performance.
Ginseng is valued for its so-called adaptogenic properties: These can help the organism adapt better to external challenges such as stress, age-related changes, or periods of reduced resilience. At the same time, ginseng plays a role in energy metabolism and can contribute to supporting physiological endurance and vitality.
Especially for dogs that are convalescing, show little drive, or are stressed by age and environmental factors, ginseng can contribute to a natural supplement to the daily ration—for more activity and zest for life in everyday life.
Pumpkin extract » Supports normal digestion
VITAL health contains high-quality pumpkin extract, which is particularly valued in animal nutrition due to its fiber and nutrients. Pumpkin can naturally supplement daily feeding – especially for dogs with sensitive digestion.
The fiber it contains contributes to supporting normal digestive function and aids the digestion of food when the product is too soft or difficult to form. Pumpkin can also be a useful component of the diet in cases of increased gas production. Due to its easy digestibility, pumpkin is also well-suited for dogs with sensitive gastrointestinal tracts.
In addition, the extract provides valuable vitamins and antioxidants that can play a role in general well-being and cell protection – ideal as a natural supplement for a good gut feeling and more balance in the digestive system.
Vitamin C and E » Micronutrients for cells & immune system
Vitamin C and vitamin E complement VITAL health with valuable antioxidant properties. Both vitamins are known in nutritional science for their role in cell function and can help protect cells from oxidative influences.
Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation – a key process for the structural development of connective tissue, skin, and blood vessels. It can also contribute to the normal function of the immune system during increased physical exertion. Although dogs can partially produce vitamin C themselves, additional supplementation – especially in combination with medicinal mushrooms – often valued in animal nutrition.
Vitamin E complements this effect with its function as an antioxidant. It helps protect cells from oxidative stress and is therefore an important component of a needs-based supply – especially during periods of increased stress or in old age.
Together, vitamins C and E contribute to the maintenanceMaintain healthy cell function and support the organism in the special demands of everyday life.
Coconut powder » Support for the brain, intestines & immune system
Coconut powder is rich in medium-chain fatty acids (MCTs) and is considered a well-tolerated energy source – especially for dogs with nutritional sensitivities. These natural fatty acids support normal brain function and can help maintain cognitive abilities in old age.
Another valuable ingredient is lauric acid, which is valued in naturopathy for its special properties in supporting normal skin function and the immune system – ideal for dogs with sensitive skin or increased nutrient requirements in the immune system.
Digestion also benefits: The fiber it contains promotes normal intestinal function and contributes to the daily support of balanced well-being.
Acacia Gum » Natural source of intestinal flora & Nutrient Absorption
Acacia gum is a natural, soluble fiber that is valued in holistic animal nutrition for its gentle effect on the digestive tract. As a prebiotic ingredient, it supports the growth of beneficial intestinal bacteria and thus supports the natural balance of the intestinal flora.
A healthy intestinal flora is not only important for digestion – it also plays a central role in the normal function of the immune system. At the same time, acacia gum contributes to better absorption of nutrients from food and can thus be a useful supplement to the daily diet.
Due to its high tolerance, acacia gum is also suitable for sensitive dogs with sensitive digestion – a balanced supplement for special intestinal and immune system requirements.
Zinc and Iron » For blood formation, oxygen transport & endurance
Iron and zinc are among the essential trace elements that are part of dogs' daily nutritional needs. Iron supports the formation of red blood cells and promotes oxygen transport – an important basis for energy, endurance, and performance.
Zinc contributes to the formation of enzymes and proteins involved in cell function and plays a role in the body's defenses and the normal function of the skin barrier. Together, they complement the diet, especially during periods of increased stress, during growth, or for older dogs. Through this targeted combination, VITAL health supports a needs-based nutrient supply for greater vitality – every day.
Vitamin D3 » For strong bones and teeth
Vitamin D3 plays an important role in maintaining a healthy calcium balance in the dog's body. It supports the normal absorption and utilization of calcium – an essential contribution to the stability of bones and teeth.
Since dogs cannot synthesize vitamin D3 through sunlight, targeted supplementation is advisable when there is an increased need. Furthermore, vitamin D3 is valued in connection with the normal function of the immune system. Thus, vitamin D3 contributes not only to bone health but also to general vitality and well-being.
A cofactor such as vitamin K2, which is often mentioned in connection with D3 in humans, is generally not necessary for dogs. They have different metabolic pathways and are usually able to provide sufficient amounts of vitamin K themselves through their intestinal flora. Studies have so far shown no need for additional intake in dogs with a balanced diet.
For ready-made food, BARF & home-cooked meals » holistically supplemented
VITAL health is ideal for daily supplementation of needs-based feeding – whether for BARF, home-cooked rations, or traditional ready-made food. Especially with industrially produced foods (approximately 90% of these foods), certain micronutrients may be insufficient in quantity or quality.
VITAL health specifically supplements the diet with natural micronutrients and secondary plant substances that are valued in veterinary medicine – to support your dog's normal body functions. The superfood recipe can also play a valuable role in feeding plans tailored to individual tolerances or specific life phases. This makes every meal a holistically supplemented source of nutrients—natural, gentle, and suitable for everyday use.

Our products are free from undesirable additives, including genetic engineering, animal testing, gluten, fructose, yeast, soya, palm oil, flavourings, sugar, cereals and preservatives. They therefore fulfil the highest requirements for very good feed supplements.
Our products should be fed once a day. It does not matter whether this is in the morning or evening, together or separately. However, it is important to follow the dosage recommendation and give the product regularly.
We generally recommend long-term feeding for most DOG FIT by PreThis® products, especially for dogs with special needs or in advanced age. Continuous supplementation with micronutrients can make an important contribution to supporting the normal function of the musculoskeletal system and nervous system – especially in dogs with increased stress or age-related changes.
Exception: VITAL gastro
For short-term challenges such as temporary soft or watery stools, we recommend initially supplementing with VITAL gastro for about 5 days. The feeding recommendation is based exclusively on the acute phase.
Our products can either be fed together or divided into several meals. The time of intake has no influence on the effectiveness. The only important thing is that the products are administered once a day according to the recommended dosage.
By dividing the food into small, medium and large sizes, dogs can be given the right amount of nutrients to ensure optimal utilization. This prevents dogs from getting either too little or too much of certain nutrients, which can potentially lead to deficiencies or overdoses. A needs-based dosage is important for the health and well-being of the dog.
High-dose food supplements can be pointless in certain circumstances. On the one hand, they can be superfluous in a balanced and healthy diet, as the dog already receives all the necessary nutrients from the food. On the other hand, excessive doses of certain nutrients can even be harmful to the dog.
Another important factor is that the effect of high-dose food supplements has not been scientifically proven and is often only based on advertising claims and the subjective experiences of owners.
Your dog is initially hesitant to eat food with DOG FIT. In such cases, we recommend the following steps:
- Reduce the amount: If your dog does not accept powder or granular preparations, start with a smaller amount and gradually increase it. Some dogs need some time to get used to the new taste.
With capsule preparations, it is usually enough to open them and mix the contents with the food. This is not a problem and does not affect the effectiveness, as many ingredients require pre-digestion in the stomach in order to be fully metabolized in the intestines. Since the capsules often consist of additional collagen, it is particularly recommended for our joint preparations to soften them in water and mix them with the food. For very small dogs, we recommend this approach either way - unfortunately there are no mini capsules.
- Mix it with treats: You can also combine the DOG FIT preparations with treats to make the taste more pleasant for your dog. Popular options include liver sausage, cottage cheese and similar snacks.
By following these steps, you can help your dog get used to the supplement while benefiting from the health benefits that DOG FIT offers. Remember, patience is key.
