DOG FIT by PreThis FAQ

1. Important informations (5)

General anesthesia in dogs, like any medical procedure under anesthesia, carries potential risks. These include, but are not limited to, respiratory problems, drops in blood pressure, cardiac arrhythmias, temporary impairment of organ function or tissue, and allergic reactions to anesthetics. In rare cases, serious complications can occur.

A thorough pre-anesthetic examination of the dog by a veterinarian to assess the individual risk profile is essential, and communicating potential risks with the pet owner prior to the procedure is also part of a responsible approach. Following veterinary instructions and providing an adequate, calm environment for the postoperative recovery period can help minimize the risk of complications.

Dear Customer,

we deliver worldwide with DHL (insured) or with Deutsche Post and their logistics partners in the respective destination country. All deliveries within the EU are duty-free and there is no import tax.

About our shipping costs.

According to DHL and Deutsche Post the delivery time within Germany is 2 to 5 days. Within the EU 4 to 12 days and to other countries up to 14 days. These are approximate values, the final delivery time is the responsibility of the parcel delivery company DHL and abroad the respective DHL partner. After handover to DHL, a shipment tracking will be sent by e-mail.

If an order cannot be delivered by DHL or their partner abroad, it will usually be returned to us. Possible reasons for this can be found on the following website: https://www.dhl.de/en/privatkunden/hilfe-kundenservice.html

If there is no error on the part of the buyer, such as an incorrect delivery address or no alternative drop-off location, or the package has not been collected from the post office within 7 days, we will resend the order at our expense.

If there is an obvious error on the part of the buyer (e.g. wrong delivery address given, not present etc.), we will charge 5.90 Euro shipping costs plus 1 Euro flat rate for a new delivery within Germany. For a new delivery outside Germany we charge shipping costs according to zone plus 1,- Euro flat rate. These costs also apply to each further delivery attempt.

If the order was delivered to a neighbour, you will find the information in the shipment tracking. But even without a note from the delivery company, it doesn’t hurt to ask your neighbours. If DHL has delivered the order to the buyer’s address and the corresponding note is in the shipment tracking, but the delivery has not been received, you should check whether an alternative delivery location has been deposited with DHL.

We will hand over the delivery to DHL one working day after the order or receipt of payment if payment has been made in full and booked with us. If payment is received by 13:00, we will dispatch the order on the same working day.

Further notes on dispatch: There must be a bell plate with the name of the addressee. If, for example, only the name of the partner is on the bell plate, the delivery address must be addressed accordingly.

If the parcel is to be delivered to the workplace, please be sure to include the name of the company in the delivery address. Without the company name, the parcel can usually NOT be delivered.

The tracking link will be sent by e-mail between 16:00 and 18:00 on the day of dispatch. Please check your spam folder if necessary.

2. Pre-existing conditions • Allergies • Medications (8)

Our food supplements are available in capsule form and offer several benefits.

Our gelatin capsules contain collagen. Our cellulose capsules can contribute to fiber supply. We use vegan rice extract or acacia fiber as fillers.

The capsule shape allows for precise dosing thanks to the precisely defined amount of the ingredients contained. We deliberately avoid synthetic coatings.

The capsules can be easily added with a treat or mixed with food. If necessary, the capsule can be opened and the contents mixed with the food. The capsule shells of our joint products are made of collagen and should be softened in water after removing the contents and added to the food.

Origin of individual ingredients:

  • Chondroitin, gelatin capsules, and colostrum: come from beef
  • Collagen: comes from pork
  • Glucosamine: comes from crustaceans
  • Green-lipped mussel: comes from mussel meat (may be problematic for fish allergies)
  • Lamb, horse, insects, or chicken: not included in our products
  • Vegan products: do not contain any animal ingredients

When administering veterinary-prescribed medications and feed supplements at the same time, it is advisable to consult a veterinarian beforehand to rule out possible interactions. The likelihood of interactions depends on the specific medication. It should be noted that chemical medications can potentially have more severe side effects, which must be distinguished from possible interactions. Interactions tend to occur more frequently with chemical medications. They are less common with natural products, but cannot be completely ruled out. A precautionary consultation with a veterinarian before using feed supplements is therefore recommended.

Some dog owners are unsure about iodine and thyroid problems. For your information: The most common thyroid dysfunction is hypothyroidism, or underactive thyroid.

Types of hypothyroidism can include:

  • Primary hypothyroidism: Impairment of the thyroid tissue
  • Secondary hypothyroidism: Impairment of the pituitary gland
  • Tertiary hypothyroidism: Impairment of the hypothalamus
  • Congenital hypothyroidism: A congenital disorder that can affect, among other things, iodine absorption or utilization

The thyroid usually reacts to a significant and prolonged excess or deficiency of iodine. A possible cause of increased iodine intake can be long-term feeding with industrially produced ready-made food, which often contains added vitamins and minerals, including iodine.

In WHITE dental plus, the iodine content is low in the recommended daily amount. One scoop contains 0.75 grams, and the general recommendation is one scoop per 10 kg of body weight daily. Very small dogs (approx. 2 kg) receive one scoop in their food every other day. The iodine content is approximately 120 mg/kg.

For dogs with known thyroid dysfunction, it is advisable to consult your veterinarian before using WHITE dental plus to discuss individual needs and possible influences on thyroid function.

Further reading may be the book “Dogs Would Live Longer If…” by Dr. Jutta Ziegler, which explores aspects of dog nutrition.

Consultation with a veterinarian is essential before using painkillers in dogs. Unintentional use of painkillers such as acetylsalicylic acid, paracetamol, or ibuprofen can lead to toxic reactions in dogs and should be avoided. Overdose or improper use can have serious consequences and endanger the animal’s health. It is therefore advisable to consult a veterinarian beforehand to determine the appropriate painkiller and the correct dosage for your dog.

To ensure good product tolerance, we place great emphasis on carefully selected ingredients. Our recipes are free from genetically modified organisms (GMOs), gluten, yeast, soy, fructose, sugar, grains, artificial flavors, preservatives, and unwanted additives. We also hold Feed Quality and HACCP ISO 9001 certifications, which attest to our high quality and safety standards. We therefore take comprehensive measures to promote the tolerance of our products.

However, it should be noted that individual tolerance can vary. Every animal is unique and may be more sensitive to certain ingredients than others. For this reason, as with any other manufacturer, intolerance cannot be completely ruled out.

In the event of an intolerance within the statutory return period of 14 days, the purchase price will of course be refunded, regardless of the cause. This policy provides customers with peace of mind, as intolerances typically occur within a few hours to a few days.

Should an intolerance occur after this period, we recommend first considering other possible causes, as these may not necessarily be related to our products. We are happy to assist with any questions or concerns.

If your pet has known pre-existing medical conditions or is taking medication at the same time, it is advisable to consult a veterinarian before using supplemental feed. The information provided here does not refer to the use of medications or their possible side effects or interactions. In this regard, the veterinarian who prescribed the medication should be consulted.

In recent years, an increase in reactions in dogs has been observed. These are often associated with feeding industrially produced dry food. It should be noted that a large portion of dog food, both dry and wet, is industrially produced.

There are numerous reactions, and a detailed list would be extensive. However, it is important to note that many of these reactions are not classic allergies in the strict sense, but can be intolerances resulting from disruptions in the intestinal barrier. A significant portion of the mammalian immune system is located in the intestine. Impairment of the intestinal flora and inflammation of the intestinal mucosa can increase intestinal permeability (leaky gut). Simply put, this can cause components to enter the bloodstream, which can trigger an immune system reaction. Possible consequences include altered stool production, itching, or inflammation. It’s common for dog owners to report their dogs’ sensitivity and intolerance.

Dry food can dehydrate the body and, due to its composition and the time it stays in the digestive tract, contribute to irritation and chronic processes in the intestines. Appropriate treatment and adjusted feeding can potentially influence these processes, reducing previously observed reactions and improving tolerance to different foods. It is recommended to critically examine feeding dry food and highly processed, so-called hypoallergenic or diet foods.

An appropriate and high-quality diet for dogs doesn’t have to be complicated.

Considerations regarding current feeding:

  • Is the dog’s diet considered healthy?
  • Do you trust the feeding recommendations of veterinarians or manufacturers?
  • Are the terms “nutritional additives,” “hydrolysate,” “technological additives,” and the manufacturing of dry food familiar?
  • Is the labeling “fresh meat” guaranteed to provide an appropriate level of nutrition?
  • Is the correct declaration of meat ingredients known?
  • Is the food declaration fully understood?
  • Are you unsure about your own knowledge? This is not an uncommon situation. Support in reviewing your current feeding is available through our Feed Check.

3. Which product is the right one for my dog? (13)

Allergies in dogs

Allergies in dogs are hypersensitive immune reactions to certain substances, known as allergens. These can include components in food (e.g. specific proteins), environmental factors like pollen, house dust mites, or contact allergens. The symptoms can vary widely – from itching and skin irritation to digestive disturbances or respiratory reactions.

Why the gut matters in allergy cases

The immune system plays a central role in allergic responses. Around 80% of a dog’s immune defences are located in the gut. If the intestinal flora is imbalanced – for example, due to antibiotics, poor-quality food, or stress – this can increase the likelihood of hypersensitive immune reactions.

A balanced intestinal environment and a strengthened immune function can help reduce susceptibility to external influences and promote general well-being.

What you can do

  • Avoid industrially processed pet food – many contain hidden allergens and artificial additives.
  • Choose high-quality, natural nutrition tailored to your dog’s needs.
  • Provide consistent support for the intestinal flora and normal immune function – especially after stress, medication, or recurring problems.
  • Seek veterinary advice in the case of severe or unclear symptoms.
Product tip: For the nutritional support of the intestinal flora and normal immune function, we recommend DOG FIT by PreThis® VITAL immun 🛒 – with colostrum and probiotic bacterial strains. Free from artificial additives and developed according to principles from naturopathy and TCM.

Osteoarthritis is a common, chronic joint condition characterized by the gradual deterioration of cartilage tissue. Friction between the joint surfaces increases, which can lead to restricted movement, pain, and inflammatory reactions. The hips, knees, elbows, and spine are commonly affected.

The disease usually develops gradually – typical signs include a stiff gait after periods of rest, reduced mobility, protective postures, or visible lameness. Osteoarthritis can occur with age, but can also be caused by misalignments, previous injuries, or excess weight.

Product note: To supplement daily feeding for special challenges, you will find suitable products here: DOG FIT by PreThis® JOINTS 🛒 (up to approx. 7 years), CARE senior 🛒 (from approx. 7 years), JOINTS elements 🛒 (for sensitive dogs from 8 months), VITAMIN B 🛒 or as affordable combination sets: JOINTS + VITAMIN B combination set 🛒, CARE senior + VITAMIN B combination set 🛒 and JOINTS elements + VITAMIN B 🛒.

Bad breath and gingivitis are among the most common problems in dogs’ mouths. In most cases, bacteria in the mouth and throat are the cause. These bacteria prefer to colonize plaque, interdental spaces, or the gum line, and their metabolism can cause unpleasant odors. Injuries in the mouth or inappropriate feeding can also disrupt the balance of the oral flora and lead to bad breath or inflammation.

If these bacterial infections are left untreated, they can spread beyond the gums to the jawbone and even affect internal organs via the bloodstream. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to changes in the mouth early on – such as unusual breath odor, tooth discoloration, or reddened gums.

Product note: You can find supplementary food for dogs here: DOG FIT by PreThis® FRESH 🛒, WHITE dental plus 🛒 and the Combi set FRESH + WHITE dental plus 🛒. Vegan, free from genetic engineering and artificial additives.

The intestinal flora – the totality of beneficial microorganisms in the intestine – plays a crucial role in digestion, nutrient absorption and the immune system. If it is out of balance, it can have far-reaching consequences: from soft or unformed stools to intolerances, a weakened immune system, or a tendency to allergies.

A disturbed intestinal flora structure can have various causes, e.g.:

  • Deworming or antibiotic treatment
  • Unbalanced or poor quality diet
  • Intolerances or chronic gastrointestinal complaints
  • Stress or a previous illness

Targeted support with probiotic cultures (live microorganisms), prebiotic fiber (as “food” for the good bacteria), and accompanying micronutrients that can strengthen the intestinal mucosa and the intestinal defenses is important for stable intestinal integrity.

Product note: For targeted support, we recommend DOG FIT by PreThis® VITAL immun 🛒 – a carefully balanced supplementary feed for dogs.

Cauda equina syndrome is a neurological disorder that affects the nerve roots in the lower spine. It is a collective term for various causes that place pressure on the nerves in the area where the lumbar spine and sacrum meet (lumbosacral region).

The most common triggers include degenerative changes in the intervertebral discs or a narrowing of the spinal canal (known as stenosis). In both cases, irritation or compression of the nerve roots can occur.

Affected dogs often exhibit symptoms such as lumbar pain, abnormal posture, weakness or lameness in the hind legs, unsteadiness when walking, and occasionally problems defecating or urinating.

Diagnosis is usually made using imaging techniques such as X-rays, CT scans, or MRI. Depending on the severity of the cause, alternative, conservative, or surgical treatment options are used. The goal is to reduce pressure on the nerves and support the dog’s mobility.

Product note: DOG FIT by PreThis® VITAMIN B 🛒 – to supplement with carefully balanced micronutrients for dogs. Vegan, free from genetic engineering and undesirable additives.

Soft or loose stools and sudden runny stools in dogs can have many causes. These include changes in diet, stress, allergies, intolerances, parasites, or gastrointestinal irritations. An imbalanced intestinal flora or excessive gastric acid production can also disrupt the balance of the digestive system.

In such cases, it is helpful to ensure an easily digestible, natural diet, avoid harmful additives, and give the digestive tract a rest. At the same time, it can be beneficial to provide your dog with specific plant-based ingredients that have a balancing effect on the stomach and intestines and support normal digestive function. Even after treatment for parasites such as Giardia or worms, the intestines often require special attention.

Product note: To support soft or runny stools, we recommend DOG FIT by PreThis® VITAL gastro 🛒 – an Ayurvedic-inspired supplementary feed with natural ingredients to support normal digestive function.

Gum inflammation (gingivitis) in dogs is often caused by bacteria that settle in the mouth – for example, in the spaces between teeth, plaque, or tartar. Injuries, metabolic diseases such as diabetes, or an unbalanced diet can also irritate the gums and lead to inflammation.

If such irritation is left untreated, the inflammation can spread – to the surrounding tissue, the periodontal ligament, or even systemically to organs such as the heart, liver, or kidneys. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to changes in the mouth area early on, e.g. B. redness, swelling, bleeding, or bad breath.

Product note: You can find supplementary products here: DOG FIT by PreThis® FRESH 🛒, WHITE dental plus 🛒 or as a combination set: FRESH + WHITE dental plus combination set 🛒.

A herniated disc (discopathy) occurs when the gel-like interior of an intervertebral disc protrudes through the outer annulus or bulges it. This can lead to pressure on the spinal cord or nerve roots. The consequences are often pain, restricted movement, coordination problems, or even paralysis. Bladder or bowel dysfunction can also occur if nerve structures are affected.

Depending on the extent of the damage, a distinction is made between a minor herniation without protrusion of the disc material and a so-called prolapse, in which the inner core of the intervertebral disc protrudes completely through the annulus and places significantly greater strain on the surrounding nerve structures.

Diagnosis is usually made using imaging techniques such as MRI or CT. Early diagnosis is crucial to tailor appropriate therapeutic measures – whether conservative or surgical – to the individual dog and avoid potential subsequent problems.

Product note: DOG FIT by PreThis® VITAMIN B 🛒 and DOG FIT by PreThis® JOINTS 🛒 – also available at a great price Combo Set 🛒 for daily supplementation with selected micronutrients for dogs with special needs. Non-GMO, free from unwanted additives.

Hip dysplasia (HD) is a common orthopedic developmental disorder in dogs. It occurs when the hip joint is not properly formed – specifically, when the femoral head is not optimally positioned in the acetabulum. The resulting instability in the joint can lead to incorrect loading, which places long-term strain on the articular cartilage.

HD is particularly common in large, fast-growing breeds. In addition to genetic factors, external influences such as obesity, improper exercise during growth, or an unbalanced diet can also contribute to its development. The first signs are often restricted mobility, difficulty standing up, or an unusual gait.

If HD is detected early, supportive measures can help maintain mobility and support the joint system in the long term. These include joint-friendly exercise, weight control, and individually tailored feeding.

Product note: DOG FIT by PreThis® JOINTS 🛒 – natural supplement with valuable micronutrients for dogs. Non-GMO, free from artificial additives.

Incontinence in dogs can have various causes. In addition to age-related changes, neurological factors are often involved – for example, as a result of surgery, castration, disc strain, or degenerative spinal diseases. In these cases, the cause lies in impaired transmission of stimuli along the nerve pathways responsible for controlling the bladder and sphincter muscles.

Temporary or permanent impairment of these nerves can lead to reduced control, which can manifest as dribbling, uncontrolled urination, or even accidental defecation. Such symptoms occur not only in older dogs, but also in younger animals after accidents or surgical procedures.

Healthy nerve function therefore plays a central role in bladder and bowel control. In addition to veterinary assessment, targeted measures in the areas of exercise, care, and feeding can be supportive.

Product note: DOG FIT by PreThis® VITAMIN B 🛒 – a carefully balanced and needs-based vitamin B complex to supplement daily nutrition. Vegan, non-GMO, and free from additives.

Patellar luxation is a displacement of the kneecap (patella) from its natural position within the knee joint. It occurs particularly frequently in small dog breeds, but can also affect larger dogs. The condition is divided into four levels of severity, depending on the severity of the luxation and the impairment of mobility.

Typical signs of patellar luxation:

  • Short-term hopping on three legs
  • Unsteady or stiff gait
  • Avoidance of certain movements
  • Pain when extending or bending the hind leg

In addition to a hereditary predisposition, factors such as weak muscles, insufficiently developed connective tissue, or unbalanced loads can contribute to the development of the condition. In milder cases, the kneecap can usually be repositioned independently or manually. In grade 4, this is no longer possible, so surgical intervention is often considered.

Product note: In addition to daily feeding, we recommend DOG FIT by PreThis® JOINTS 🛒 – a supplementary feed with micronutrients for adult dogs. If necessary, the combination with DOG FIT by PreThis® JOINTS greenshell may be useful.

Spondylosis is a degenerative change in the spine, resulting in bony growths between the vertebrae. These usually arise from chronic overload or age-related wear of the vertebral joints and intervertebral discs. Over time, they can limit mobility and impair surrounding nerve structures.

Typical signs can include:

  • Tense back muscles
  • Restricted movement
  • Trembling, unsteady gait, or incontinence
  • Pain when standing up or touching the back

An intact nervous system plays a central role in controlling movement and organ functions – even in dogs with spondylosis. If the pressure on surrounding nerve structures becomes too great, this can trigger neurological symptoms. Therefore, early support of the musculoskeletal system and normal nerve function is particularly important.

Product note: For special challenges in the spine and nervous system, we recommend the combination of DOG FIT by PreThis® JOINTS and DOG FIT by PreThis® VITAMIN B 🛒 – for targeted supplementation with micronutrients tailored to the spine, joints, and nerve function.

Tartar forms when soft plaque – consisting of food residue, saliva, and bacteria – mineralizes and hardens. This occurs particularly frequently in dogs fed primarily commercial dry food, as this often contains excessive amounts of starch and low-quality fillers. Inadequate dental care or an unbalanced oral flora also promote the formation of tartar.

Once hardened, tartar can no longer be removed through normal chewing or brushing. It provides ideal conditions for bacteria to multiply, which can lead to subsequent problems such as bad breath, gingivitis, or, in the worst case, tooth loss. Furthermore, the bacteria can enter the body via the bloodstream and place a strain on the liver, kidneys, or heart.

Therefore, it is important to counteract the formation of tartar as early as possible – for example, through appropriate dental care, regular checkups, and the selection of species-appropriate food. Chewing behavior and genetic predisposition also play a role. Small breeds with closely spaced teeth are particularly frequently affected.

Product note: You can find supplementary food for dogs here: DOG FIT by PreThis® FRESH 🛒, WHITE dental plus 🛒 and the Combi set FRESH + WHITE dental plus 🛒. Vegan, free from genetic engineering and artificial additives.

5. Answers about our products (7)

Our products can be fed either together or divided into several meals. The time of intake has no influence on the effectiveness. It is only important that the products are administered once a day.

For hygienic reasons, we primarily recommend mixing the capsules closed with the food or administering them in a treat. However, if your dog is unwilling or unable to swallow them, you can open the capsule and mix the contents with the food or give it with some yogurt, cottage cheese, or liver sausage.

Since the capsule shells of our joint products often contain additional collagen, it is particularly recommended for these products to soften the opened capsule shell in a little water and also mix it with the food.

Would you like to benefit from our popular 5+1 advantage? It’s that easy:

  1. Select five identical products

Place five identical individual products or combination sets (e.g. 5 × small JOINTS or 5 × small JOINTS & small VITAMIN B combination set) in your shopping cart. As soon as the quantity reaches exactly 5, the sixth product will be automatically added free of charge – from us, for you!

  2. Important:
    • The offer only applies to identical products or sets of the same variant and size.
    • Different variants or products (e.g., 3 × WHITE dental plus + 2 × VITAL shine plus) cannot be combined.
    • This offer is not valid in conjunction with other value sets (such as 2- or 4-packs).

Examples of valid combinations:

  • ✅ 5 × WHITE dental plus → 1 × WHITE dental plus free
  • ✅ 5 × JOINTS medium → 1 × JOINTS medium free
  • ✅ 5 × combination set JOINTS small & VITAMIN B small → 1 set free

We generally recommend long-term use of our products, as nutritional supplements typically require several weeks to develop their full effect. Continuous administration is particularly recommended for challenges affecting the joints, spine, or intervertebral discs to achieve lasting results.

An exception is our VITAL gastro, whose recommended duration of use for acute diarrhea or soft stools is generally around five days. This short-term use is specifically aimed at relieving the acute symptom. Further information can be found in the “Usage” section of the VITAL gastro product.

However, for other digestive and stomach problems or following a worm or parasite infestation, you can safely supplement VITAL gastro over a longer period.

Products such as VITAL immun or VITAMIN B can also be used in a course of two to three applications per year in cases of increased stress or as a preventative measure. Ultimately, the optimal duration of use depends on your dog’s individual needs. We are happy to advise you to make the best decision for your four-legged friend.

Our products have been extensively tested for acceptance – also with the help of our own dogs. However, there are exceptions: Some dogs are sensitive to new smells or tastes. If your dog is hesitant to accept the product, we recommend the following procedure:

  1. Start with a small amount

For powder or granulate products, start with a small amount and gradually increase it to the recommended daily ration. Many dogs adapt to the taste easily this way.

  2. Opening and adjusting capsules

With our capsule products, you can simply open the shell and mix the contents directly into the food. This does not change the effectiveness or tolerance.

Important: For joint products such as JOINTS or CARE senior, the capsules also contain collagen. To optimize digestion, they should be dissolved in a little water and then mixed into the food.

  3. Combine with a favorite snack

If your dog is particularly picky, you can mix the product with some liver sausage, cottage cheese, or another suitable treat. Make sure to choose natural, easily digestible snacks without sugar or additives.

Tip: A little patience often pays off. Many dogs only need one or two days to get used to it – especially if feeding is done calmly and without force.

DOG FIT products are manufactured in Germany and meet the strictest international standards for food supplements. Production is carried out according to HACCP ISO 9001 guidelines. Furthermore, we ensure the outstanding purity of our products through independent laboratory analyses.

The decision to switch to stand-up pouches was based on several considerations. First of all, stand-up pouches are 100% recyclable, which was not the case with cans. They also require less storage space, which reduces both storage and electricity costs. Furthermore, smaller orders can now be sent in envelopes instead of boxes. Overall, this results in a saving of up to 3 tonnes of plastic waste per year, a significant reduction in CO2 emissions and cost savings that have avoided an increase in prices.

We would like to emphasise that with this change to stand-up pouches, we have also responded to many customer requests for an environmentally conscious alternative to cans. We announced this change some time ago in a newsletter and on our social media channels and received extremely positive feedback from our customers.

DOG FIT by PreThis® CARE senior (16)

Yes, the manufacture of our products is certified according to HACCP ISO 9001 and complies with the highest guidelines.

Our product can be used both for long-term support of the dog’s general well-being and vitality, and as a supplement to the diet. Regular and long-term use can help support the body’s natural functions and overall balance.

Our products comply with Feed Quality, which, like any high-quality dog food, has been extensively tested and certified. Overdosing is not known to occur, however we recommend sticking to the stated feeding recommendation, as a higher dosage does not necessarily lead to a better effect.

Yes, CARE senior can be given to older dogs long-term, even without acute symptoms, to support their overall well-being and vitality. Regular, long-term use can help support the natural functions of older dogs and promote their quality of life in old age.

Our products are free from undesirable additives, including genetic engineering, animal testing, gluten, fructose, yeast, soy, palm oil, flavours, sugar, grains and preservatives. They therefore meet the highest requirements for very good feed supplements.

DOG FIT by PreThis® CARE senior Feeding recommendation

  • Feed your dog one capsule a day, small, medium or large.
  • Very light dogs, around 2 kg, get one capsule every 2 days.
  • Dogs over 50 kg get 2 capsules daily.
  • For hygienic reasons, the capsules should preferably be mixed in with the food or hidden in a treat. However, if the dog does not want to or cannot swallow them, the capsule can be pulled apart so that the contents can be mixed into the food or given together with some yoghurt, cottage cheese or liver sausage. As the capsules often consist of additional collagen, we recommend soaking them in water and mixing them into the food, especially with our joint preparations.
  • Please store in a cool, dry place away from light.

One can or bag contains 60 capsules and is sufficient for up to 2 months, depending on the weight of the dog.

CARE senior is almost odourless and tasteless. It has a high acceptance rate among dogs.

In general, CARE senior is very well tolerated, as we pay attention to high quality and natural composition when selecting our ingredients.

However, it is important to note that, as with any natural product, individual intolerances to individual ingredients can occur. If a dog shows signs of intolerance (e.g., digestive problems, skin irritations), we recommend temporarily discontinuing use and, if necessary, consulting a veterinarian to determine the cause.

We attach great importance to the tolerability of our products and do not use unnecessary additives to minimize the risk of intolerance.

DOG FIT by PreThis® CARE senior: Each pack small, medium, or large = 60 capsules = sufficient for 2 months.

The supplementary feed should be fed once daily unless otherwise specified. It doesn’t matter whether this is done in the morning or evening, together or separately. However, it is important to follow the dosage recommendations and administer the product regularly.

The time until noticeable changes occur varies depending on the individual situation and the underlying need. Typically, the first positive changes can be expected after at least six weeks of use, in some cases somewhat longer. Natural products generally require a certain amount of time to develop their beneficial properties.

Dividing our products into small, medium, and large sizes allows for a tailored supply of nutrients to ensure optimal utilization in the dog’s body. This prevents dogs from consuming either too little or too much of certain nutrients, which could potentially lead to deficiencies or overdoses. Tailored dosing is essential for the dog’s health and well-being.

High-dose food supplements may be unnecessary under certain circumstances. On the one hand, they may be superfluous in a balanced and healthy diet, as the dog already obtains all the necessary nutrients from its food. On the other hand, excessively high doses of certain nutrients can even be counterproductive for the dog.

Another important aspect is that the effectiveness of high-dose food supplements is often not scientifically proven and is often based on advertising claims and the subjective experiences of dog owners.

DOG FIT by PreThis® Coffee wood (2)

When chewing, dogs can develop different levels of strength and it can happen that pieces of our coffee tree wood chew stick come off. If this happens, please remove the pieces immediately to avoid the dog swallowing them. In addition, the chew sticks wear out over time and become smaller, so it is also advisable to replace the product in good time. If your dog has loose teeth, sensitive teeth or tends to bite the product directly so that pieces come off, we recommend avoiding its use.

Our chew sticks made of coffee tree wood are natural products and therefore have an individual shape and not always exactly the same size. The sizes of the chew sticks are therefore divided into 7 weight classes and are usually suitable for the dog. However, mixed breeds can also have a larger or smaller mouth. If the dog is on the border between two weight classes, it is recommended to take the next smaller size to start with.

For orientation, in addition to our division into weight classes, here are the approximate measurements:

  1. mini (up to 3 kg): approx. 14 cm x 1.5 cm
  2. x-tra small (3 to 7 kg): approx. 17 cm x 2 cm
  3. small (7 to 11 kg): approx. 19 cm x 2.5 cm
  4. medium (11 to 15 kg): approx. 20 cm x 3.5 cm
  5. large (15 to 22 kg): approx. 24 cm x 4.5 cm
  6. x-tra large: (22 to 40 kg): approx. 26.5 cm x 5 cm
  7. mega large (from 40 kg): approx. 28 cm x 7 cm

DOG FIT by PreThis® FRESH (18)

Yes, the manufacture of our products is certified according to HACCP ISO 9001 and complies with the highest guidelines.

A combination of FRESH and WHITE dental plus can be beneficial as part of daily oral hygiene, especially for dogs with tartar and plaque. WHITE dental plus supports the reduction of plaque. FRESH can contribute to supporting healthy oral flora and fresh breath.

Our product can be used both for long-term support of the dog’s general well-being and vitality, and as a supplement to the diet. Regular and long-term use can help support the body’s natural functions and overall balance.

Our products comply with Feed Quality, which, like any high-quality dog food, has been extensively tested and certified. Overdosing is not known to occur, however we recommend sticking to the stated feeding recommendation, as a higher dosage does not necessarily lead to a better effect.

Our products are free from undesirable additives, including genetic engineering, animal testing, gluten, fructose, yeast, soy, palm oil, flavours, sugar, grains and preservatives. They therefore meet the highest requirements for very good feed supplements.

FRESH and WHITE dental plus can easily be added to both wet and dry food. However, we recommend that you do not give your dog dry food, as we and well-trained veterinarians consider it unsuitable and even unhealthy for dogs. Tartar and bad breath always have a cause and dry feeding can only address the symptoms, not the causes. If you don’t address the causes, it can lead to an endless battle against bad breath and tartar. We also offer our food check service to learn more about feeding your dog the best food.

Yes, FRESH can be given to dogs even without acute symptoms as part of daily oral hygiene to support healthy oral flora. It can contribute to pleasant breath. FRESH can also support normal digestive function and contribute to general well-being.

FRESH is a purely natural product and therefore needs time to develop its full effect. We recommend approximately 3 to 4 weeks of use to see initial results. However, depending on the individual situation, this may take longer or faster. Feedback from dog owners indicates that some have noticed a positive change in their dog’s breath after just a few days.

For dogs with tartar, using FRESH in combination with WHITE dental plus as part of daily oral hygiene may be beneficial. Long-term use of both products can help support healthy oral flora.

FRESH is simply mixed into the food. For dogs weighing around 2 kg, add 1 scoop daily. For dogs weighing approximately 2 kg to 10 kg, add 2 scoops daily. For dogs weighing 10 kg to 20 kg, add 4 scoops daily. For dogs weighing 20 kg to 30 kg, add 6 scoops daily, and so on. One scoop contains 0.75 g and is included in the package.

One pack of FRESH lasts about two months for dogs up to 2 kg, and about one month for dogs between 2 and 10 kg. For larger dogs, we offer attractive savings in our shop, such as 2-packs, 4-packs, or our 5+1 pack.

FRESH is also suitable for very small dogs. Due to their narrow jaws and tight teeth, these dogs are particularly prone to bad breath and tartar. For dogs weighing about 1-2 kg, the dosage can be reduced to one measuring spoon. An increase to 2 measuring spoons is unproblematic depending on the effect. One measuring spoon contains only 0.75 g.

FRESH smells and tastes pleasantly of fresh herbs. Due to the drying and gentle processing, it has a high acceptance by dogs.

In general, FRESH is well tolerated, as we pay attention to high quality and natural composition when selecting our ingredients.

The supplementary feed should be fed once daily unless otherwise specified. It doesn’t matter whether this is done in the morning or evening, together or separately. However, it is important to follow the dosage recommendations and administer the product regularly.

Our molasses is derived exclusively from sustainable sugar cane and is a valuable source of minerals and secondary plant compounds. A very small amount in FRESH serves as a natural preservative to protect the valuable ingredients in FRESH and bind dust particles. By avoiding chemical preservatives, molasses offers a high-quality alternative.

Molasses contains about 42-47% sucrose, which plays an important role in the metabolic process as a carbohydrate and disaccharide and contributes to the natural preservation of FRESH. Sucrose is also found in carrots, for example. Molasses also contains polyphenols, secondary plant substances that act as antioxidants and can protect body cells and insulin receptors from oxidative stress. The high mineral content and the presence of natural trivalent chromium are further positive properties of molasses.

DOG FIT by PreThis® JOINTS (14)

Yes, the manufacture of our products is certified according to HACCP ISO 9001 and complies with the highest guidelines.

Our product can be used both for long-term support of the dog’s general well-being and vitality, and as a supplement to the diet. Regular and long-term use can help support the body’s natural functions and overall balance.

Feeding recommendation DOG FIT by PreThis® JOINTS

DOG FIT JOINTS is dosed according to the dog’s body weight and is optimally suited for dogs up to 10 kg (small), 10 kg – 25 kg (medium) and from 25 kg (large).

  • Dogs should be given one DOG FIT JOINTS small, medium or large capsule daily, depending on their body weight.
  • Dogs weighing 50 kg or more should receive two DOG FIT JOINTS large capsules daily.

For preventive dosing of small dogs, the following recommendations apply:

  • Dogs weighing up to 2 kg should receive one capsule small every 2 days.
  • Dogs weighing 2.5 to 3.5 kg should skip one day per week.
  • Dogs weighing 3.5 to 10 kg should be given one capsule of DOG FIT JOINTS small daily.
  • In cases of joint disease such as osteoarthritis in small dogs, dogs weighing up to 2 kg should skip one day per week and be given one capsule daily for dogs weighing 2 kg or more.

For hygienic reasons, the capsules should preferably be mixed in with the food or hidden in a treat.

One can or bag contains 60 capsules and is sufficient for up to 2 months, depending on the weight of the dog.

For dogs with very sensitive stomachs, we recommend JOINTS elements.

JOINTS contains a combination of five natural nutrients for the joints: glucosamine, MSM, collagen, frankincense, and devil’s claw. These nutrients can contribute to supporting the normal function of joints and cartilage and promoting mobility.

JOINTS can be used as long-term support for the musculoskeletal system, particularly in cases of age-related or increased joint stress. Available in small, medium, and large sizes, it allows for dosage tailored to your needs.

JOINTS elements is a high-quality supplementary feed with natural micronutrients developed to support the normal function of joints and the musculoskeletal system. The nutrients it contains – also known as joint nutrients – are carefully balanced and are fed especially when there are increased demands on mobility, coordination, and stability.

The recipe can contribute to the normal supply of cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and fascia – especially in active dogs or those with special challenges in the musculoskeletal system. Many pet owners also use JOINTS elements as part of a conscious feeding strategy as part of a holistic preventative care concept.

Due to its high level of acceptance and tolerance, JOINTS elements is particularly suitable for sensitive dogs. It is available in three weight classes (small, medium, large) and can therefore be dosed according to needs.

Depending on the goal and individual situation, JOINTS elements can be usefully combined with DOG FIT by PreThis® VITAMIN B – e.g. B. to support the nervous system.

Yes, the manufacture of our products is certified according to HACCP ISO 9001 and complies with the highest guidelines.

Our products comply with Feed Quality, which, like any high-quality dog food, has been extensively tested and certified. Overdosing is not known to occur, however we recommend sticking to the stated feeding recommendation, as a higher dosage does not necessarily lead to a better effect.

DOG FIT by PreThis® VITAL gastro feeding recommendation

  • Your dog gets 2 measuring spoons of VITAL gastro per day for every 10 kg in his food. Please distribute to 1 x in the morning and 1 x in the evening. VITAL gastro can also be fed in a treat, such as some cottage cheese.
  • Small dogs up to approx. 2 kg get alternately:
    Day 1 1 scoop
    Day 2 2 scoops
    Day 3 1 scoop etc.
  • Please store in a cool, dry place away from light.

VITAL gastro was specially developed to support normal digestive function during temporary changes in bowel habits and to be used as part of nutritional intestinal care.

For persistent changes in bowel habits that last for several days, it is advisable to seek veterinary advice. This is especially true for puppies (3 days old) and older dogs (3 days old).

For nutritional intestinal care, for example, after a period that has affected the balance of the intestinal flora, use over a period of one month may be beneficial. Repeated use at shorter intervals may also be considered in certain situations.

It is always advisable to review your dog’s diet if changes in bowel habits occur.

VITAL gastro is sufficient for a 10 kg dog for 2 months.

VITAL gastro is highly accepted by dogs and is virtually odourless and tasteless.

VITAL gastro is very well tolerated; we are not aware of any intolerances. However, individual intolerances can never be completely ruled out. If you have known intolerances, please check the ingredients.

VITAL gastro is a purely natural supplementary food for dogs, specially developed to support balanced digestion. The plant-based recipe contains carefully selected ingredients from veterinary medicine and Ayurvedic knowledge, which are traditionally valued for special stomach and intestinal needs, as well as for soft stools.

VITAL gastro supplements the daily diet with prebiotic fiber and natural components such as Jerusalem artichoke, ashwagandha, neem, and inulin. These can help promote the balance of intestinal flora and support the normal function of the digestive tract – especially in cases of sensitive digestion.

VITAL gastro is vegan, free from artificial additives, genetic engineering, gluten, soy, and other typical allergens – making it suitable for dogs with nutritional sensitivities.

VITAL gastro is primarily designed to support normal digestive function during temporary changes in bowel movements and is used as part of a nutritional intestinal care program.

Even without acute changes in bowel movements, VITAL gastro can be considered as part of a planned, nutritional intestinal care program, for example, during periods of increased stress on the digestive system or in dogs with nutritional sensitivities. The goal is to support the balance of the intestinal flora and promote normal digestive function. However, long-term use is not the primary indication.

With nutritional support for temporary changes in bowel habits, normalization can usually be observed within 2 to 5 days.

Please note:

VITAL gastro is not designed to treat specific causes such as parasitic infestation (e.g., worms, bacteria) or inflammation. In such cases, veterinary diagnosis and treatment are required.

If changes in bowel habits persist for more than 5 days (2 days for puppies, 3 days for older dogs), a veterinary examination is recommended.

Feeding and possible dietary changes can also play a role in changes in bowel habits. Identifying and correcting the underlying cause is crucial.

Our products comply with Feed Quality, which, like any high-quality dog food, has been extensively tested and certified. Overdosing is not known to occur, however we recommend sticking to the stated feeding recommendation, as a higher dosage does not necessarily lead to a better effect.

In general, VITAL regeneration is very well tolerated, as we pay attention to high quality and natural composition when selecting our ingredients.

DOG FIT by PreThis® VITAL regeneration was specially developed to supplement daily nutrition with micronutrients valued in veterinary medicine for their role in supporting the musculoskeletal system. The product specifically supplements the diet with nutrients for the normal function of cartilage, ligaments, tendons, fascia, and the soft tissue structures of the spine – for example, as part of physiological recovery after particularly stressful periods. VITAL regeneration can also be integrated into the daily feeding concept for dogs with an increased need for stability and mobility in the musculoskeletal system.

DOG FIT by PreThis® VITAMIN B (15)

Yes, the manufacture of our products is certified according to HACCP ISO 9001 and complies with the highest guidelines.

Our product can be used both for long-term support of the dog’s general well-being and vitality, and as a supplement to the diet. Regular and long-term use can help support the body’s natural functions and overall balance.

For hygienic reasons, we primarily recommend mixing the capsules closed with the food or administering them in a treat. However, if your dog is unwilling or unable to swallow them, you can open the capsule and mix the contents with the food or give it with some yogurt, cottage cheese, or liver sausage.

B vitamins are generally water-soluble vitamins. This means that the body cannot store most of them (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9) in significant quantities. Excess amounts are usually excreted in the urine.

The exception is vitamin B12, which is stored in the liver. We took this into account when developing our needs-based dosage.

However, it is important to note that chronically very high intakes of certain B vitamins, far exceeding the recommended daily intake, can rarely cause side effects. For example, extremely high intakes of vitamin B6 can cause neurological symptoms, and very high doses of niacin (B3) can lead to skin reddening or gastrointestinal discomfort. In addition, high folic acid (B9) intake can sometimes mask a vitamin B12 deficiency.

Our products are dosed so that overdose is unlikely if the recommended intake is adhered to. However, it is advisable not to exceed the recommended dosage without consulting a veterinarian.

The feeding recommendation for DOG FIT by PreThis® Vitamin B Complex is as follows:

  • For dogs up to 1.5 kg body weight: one capsule every 2 days.
  • For dogs over 1.5 kg body weight:
    small: 1 capsule daily
    medium: 1 capsule daily
    large: 1 capsule daily
  • For dogs weighing 50 kg or more: 2 capsules daily.

DOG FIT by PreThis® Vitamin B Complex should be stored out of the reach of children, dry and protected from light, as B vitamins are sensitive to light.

One can or bag contains 60 capsules and is sufficient for up to 2 months, depending on the weight of the dog.

Vitamin B is almost odorless and tasteless.

In general, B vitamins are very well tolerated because they are water-soluble, and the body can usually excrete excess amounts without any problems.

We use acacia fiber as a filler in our product, which is also considered well tolerated and may even have prebiotic properties, which could further support intestinal health.

Although B vitamins are generally well tolerated, in very rare cases, individual intolerances or allergic reactions to individual ingredients cannot be completely ruled out.

Our products are formulated to ensure good tolerance if the recommended intake is observed. However, it is always advisable to adhere to the recommended dosage.

The vitamin B complex supplements the daily diet with valuable B vitamins in an additive-free recipe. It is suitable for supporting balanced vitamin B levels – especially during periods of increased stress, such as during periods of stress, changes in living conditions, or in older dogs with special needs.

B vitamins contribute to the normal function of the nervous system. They play a role in signal transmission between nerves and muscles – important for movement coordination, reaction time, and the physiological function of the back and urinary bladder. They are also important for general energy metabolism and mental performance.

Targeted supplementation can be useful for supporting dogs in stressful situations – whether in old age, during periods of particular nervous strain, or to support vitality in everyday life.

The supplementary feed should be fed once daily unless otherwise specified. It doesn’t matter whether this is done in the morning or evening, together or separately. However, it is important to follow the dosage recommendations and administer the product regularly.

DOG FIT by PreThis® WHITE dental plus (19)

Yes, the manufacture of our products is certified according to HACCP ISO 9001 and complies with the highest guidelines.

Our products comply with Feed Quality, which, like any high-quality dog food, has been extensively tested and certified. Overdosing is not known to occur, however we recommend sticking to the stated feeding recommendation, as a higher dosage does not necessarily lead to a better effect.

Brushing teeth does not help to loosen tartar because the plaque is too hard. Moreover, brushing teeth is something that is suitable for humans but not for dogs, as it is not species-appropriate. Dogs perform tartar prophylaxis on their own if they are fed a species-appropriate diet. A suitable diet can help to keep the dog’s teeth clean and reduce the formation of tartar. This includes, for example, feeding fresh meat and bones and avoiding carbohydrate-rich foods such as cereals.

A species-appropriate and balanced diet plays an important role in a dog’s dental health. Feeding high-quality wet food, home-prepared meals, or raw food (BARF) with suitable bones can be an alternative to conventional dry food. Natural chew snacks such as furry ears and pure, air-dried meat strips can also contribute to dental care. If you are unsure about the suitability of your current diet, you can request a personalized food check.

WHITE dental plus is sufficient for dogs weighing 2 to 10 kg for 2 months and correspondingly shorter for dogs over 10 kg. For the very small pelt-noses with a weight of about 2 kg, which only get a measuring spoon every two days, one can even lasts up to 4 months (see application in the shop). For large dogs, we offer low-priced savings packages (2 and 4 cans) as well as a 5 + 1 offer.

DOG FIT by PreThis® WHITE dental plus feeding recommendation:

  • Up to 10 kg, mix 1 scoop into the food daily.
  • Only dogs around 2 kg should receive one scoop every other day.
  • 10 to 20 kg: 2 scoops daily
  • 20 to 30 kg: 3 scoops daily
  • 30 to 40 kg: 4 scoops daily
  • 40 to 50 kg: 5 scoops daily, etc.

Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool, dry place away from light.

WHITE dental plus is an all-natural, completely stress-free and healthy alternative for the dog to remove tartar and plaque. You can avoid anaesthesia at the vet with WHITE dental plus, because it is not without risk, especially for older, pre-diseased and very light dogs. Moreover, a dental cleaning at the vet is not sustainable. However, from a certain degree (very massive tartar, bad breath, rotten teeth, receding and inflamed gums), a visit to the vet is unavoidable, because then you have waited too long. Waited for what? For it to go away on its own?

Important: Tartar always has a cause. Industrially produced dry and wet food and too little and/or the wrong chewing material are among them. If the causes for the formation of tartar are not eliminated, natural teeth cleaning can become an endless battle. On the one hand tartar should be removed and on the other hand it is promoted. We inform you about this in detail in our Foodcheck.

In such cases (tartar, bad breath and/or gingivitis), we recommend that our customers use WHITE dental plus against tartar and FRESH against bad breath and gingivitis together.

Bad breath is caused, among other things, by bacteria nesting in tartar and plaque, which produce gases that we perceive as bad breath. They can also spread in the body and cause heart, liver and kidney diseases. FRESH soothes and calms gums and gingivitis with its antibacterial herbal mix and tackles the bacteria. Each remedy has its own intended use and both can be combined, as with all our products. Bacteria are also responsible for gingivitis.

IMPORTANT: The bacteria nesting in tartar can also spread in the body and cause heart, liver and kidney problems!

So, each remedy has its own application purpose and both can be combined with each other, like all our products. We have extra favourable product combinations for this in the shop. You can find the WHITE & FRESH combination here.

Many dog owners with small dogs, especially those weighing around 2 kg, often ask us if our product is suitable. Yes, our product is also suitable for the tiniest furballs. They should use one measuring spoon every two days, as described in the feeding recommendations under application.

Important: Smaller dog breeds often have a genetically narrow dental arch and are therefore particularly susceptible to dental tartar. It is especially important to pay attention to good food quality and appropriate chew materials for small breeds.

Dental tartar always has a cause, which includes industrially produced dry and wet food as well as insufficient or incorrect chew materials. If the causes of dental tartar formation are not addressed, natural teeth cleaning can become an endless battle. On one hand, tartar should be removed, while on the other hand, it is promoted by unsuitable food and inadequate teeth cleaning. We provide detailed information on the causes and prevention of dental tartar in our food check.

It has a slightly salty sea flavor. The smell is reminiscent of a stay by the sea. Thanks to the drying process and gentle processing into granules, it is highly acceptable to dogs.

In general, WHITE dental plus is well tolerated, as we pay attention to high quality and natural composition when selecting our ingredients.

It is perfectly normal for your dog to gobble, because dogs are gobblers. In the wild, they have to eat their food quickly to protect it from other animals and to make sure they get enough food. This has not changed in the domestication of dogs. Many dogs still have an instinctive urge to eat their food quickly.

Your dog should eat WHITE dental plus because the active ingredients contained in it get into the saliva via digestion and can therefore also fight tartar. However, the friction on the teeth does not play a role.

You can additionally support the dissolution of the tartar softened by WHITE dental plus by providing your dog with species-appropriate chewing material. Chewables such as cowhide, bullwhips or cow ears are suitable for this purpose. These support the natural abrasion of the tartar and promote the chewing muscles. Chewing wood from the coffee tree can also support the removal of tartar. The wood of the coffee tree has special properties, it does not splinter, is very durable and due to its fibrous consistency, the dog’s teeth can sink deep into the wood. The wood fibres support abrasion by doing the job of the fur that wolves eat from their prey. You can purchase special DOG FIT chews from us that provide your dog with a species-appropriate activity and support dental health at the same time.

We would like to emphasise how important it is to pay attention to your dog’s diet and to offer him a species-appropriate diet. Many industrially produced dry and wet foods contain ingredients that are not suitable for the dog’s body and can lead to problems such as tartar build-up, intolerances, autoimmune diseases, thyroid, heart, liver and kidney problems.

If you are unsure about what to feed your dog and what ingredients are in their food, we recommend our food check. Many dog owners do not understand the declarations on food packaging and there is a lot to learn, especially for those who actually still feed their dog dry food.

There is a lot of ignorance about thyroid problems in dogs or about iodine, which is mostly collected on the web. To explain: The most common malfunction is hypofunction, hypothyroidism.

Types of hypothyroidism:

  • Primary hypothyroidism: Destruction or atrophy of thyroid tissue
  • secondary hypothyroidism: destruction, malformation or suppression of the pituitary gland
  • tertiary hypothyroidism: malformation or acquired damage to the hypothalamus
  • Congenital hypothyroidism: congenital defect associated, for example, with a disorder of iodine uptake or iodine utilization

An over- or undersupply of iodine can only affect the thyroid gland in the case of long-term and excessive intake. The main cause of iodine oversupply is often the long-term feeding of industrially produced dry or wet food. Unfortunately, over 90% of all dog foods contain artificial vitamins and minerals in often far too high amounts, which can be found as additives or under the label “nutritional additives”, including iodine. These are often used to compensate for the poor nutritional quality of the food in order to make the product still sellable. In addition, many ready-to-eat foods contain preservatives, attractants and other additives, not all of which need to be declared. This applies to 98% of all dry food, which is basically not suitable for dogs. Dry food was invented by the feed industry in the post-war period and is still advertised as “healthy” with a lot of money.

Many people like it convenient and easy and that is why dry food has persisted until today. Unfortunately, the ignorance of dog owners, false promises of the manufacturers, advertising and little regulation support this trend. If you inform yourself, you will learn that dry food, but also many wet foods, are unhealthy for your dog. For example, a high quality food does not need any additives, a little vitamin D is fine, but that’s it.

You can use WHITE dental plus without hesitation because it has a low iodine content of 120mg/kg. One scoop contains only 0.75 grams and you should feed one scoop daily for every 10 kg of dog weight. For very small dogs around 2 kg, it is sufficient to add one scoop to the food every other day. WHITE dental plus is a popular BARF ingredient and is safe for the time of treatment if fed in a species-appropriate and high-quality diet. However, as we don’t know what else you feed your dog and many dog owners are unfortunately not sufficiently informed, we recommend that you carry out the treatment in stages and take a break of 2 weeks after every 6 to 8 weeks. If you offer your dog a sensible diet, this recommendation does not apply, as iodine is vital for the dog.

If your dog already suffers from a thyroid dysfunction, this does not automatically mean that he has to do without iodine. However, the amount is crucial. Please ask your vet, who ideally has completed additional training as a nutritionist. This additional training is usually not part of the veterinary degree. If your vet does not have this qualification, please consult another vet or a veterinary practitioner. However, we would like to point out that WHITE dental plus is not suitable for dogs with a thyroid disease until this has been clarified with a veterinarian.

The special ingredients of kelp algae and Rheum Palmatum (Da Huang) from TCM can help support oral hygiene and reduce the formation of plaque. WHITE dental plus can therefore be a simple addition to daily feeding, eliminating the need for brushing.

It is important to note that the formation of tartar can have various causes, such as the type of feeding and unsuitable chew toys. Optimizing these factors can support natural oral hygiene. We provide information on this in our food check.
